POPPING THROUGH INTAKE

RE: POPPING THROUGH INTAKE
it could be an exhaust leak. with my 1965 mustang it would pop and sound weird when i took off. it sounded like it was comming through the carb, but a neighbor told me it was either the doughnut was blown or the pipe just needed to be tightened to the exhause manifold. it worked and it seems that everyone once in awhile it gets lose again. thats just a possiblility that you can check but thats usually just a noise and i dont think it makes the engine skip.

Mine does it when it's cold then it goes away. Is yours the same?
I have yet to figure this out myself. I thought it was my tune, but if i'm not alone on this then maybe i need to look somewhere else.
It happens to me at the lower rpm while accelerating.(light load)
Anyone else have this problem?

Also, could be cross firing in the distributer. Hardly see that anymore, but if moisture gets in the distributer cap or if there's a defect, it can allow the spark to go to an unintended cylinder. If it's going away after warming up it could be moisture that clears out after it gets warm, or it could be a problem with how the computer is timing it when it's cold.

RE: POPPING THROUGH INTAKE
I have non ported cobra intake.
I'm am about to replace my intake gaskets this weekend. The back of the intake leaks and it gets oil on the exhaust. I think it's from the boost,,lol.
I'm still working on a catch can and evac setup.
