Can I take off the tranny without taking off the clutch n bell housing I need to change the seal

yes, the transmission will unbolt without having to take the clutch or bellhousing down.


ofcourse, had you just looked under there, you would have been able to tell.

no you cannot change the rear main seal if that is what you are after without removing bell, clutch and flywheel

the tailshaft seal can be changed with the tranny in the car

What about the throw out bearing would it fall in between the clutch or would it stay on the transmission shaft

its attached to the clutch fork, it SHOULD stay in place

you mean the seal in the input shaft retainer?? I've never had one of those leak, often it leaks from the bearing with the o-ring in it for the cluster gear that is below the retainer, inspect both if that is what you are after.

+1. Never heard of that seal leaking. But if you're gonna take it apart then don't forget to check and see if the rear main seal is starting to weap or leak at all.
