Hypereutectic pistons
#15
I see you're from Texas. Which part? Reason I ask is there's a local machine shop in the DFW area who rebuilt mine. I've had mine rebuilt twice. The first shop was $350 which included new cast pistons, bearings, bored .030 over, new timing chain, etc. It was a good deal. After I messed the engine up, I had another shop rebuild mine(not the same one since they went out of business). The cost was $412. New bearings, rings, polished the crank, repainted the block, resurfaced my flywheel, etc. Rebuilding a 302 is pretty cheap for a shop to do.

I would use the forged pistons.
From the viewpoint of strength/durabilite there is no other choice.
It's only a few bucks more anyway and a lot of bucks when a hyper or a cast piston fails....
I'd take a lot more into consideration that what shop will build the block cheapest.......
