Default Check Engine Light

Hello, I have a 89' Mustang GT and the check engine light is always on. I had the codes ran and it came back "Primary AND secondary induction failure". At the time we checked the induction system every way we could, found a few air leaks and fixed those. Ran it through every test we could and nothing seemed wrong. At the time we did not know that the smog pump had been removed (didn't learn that one till I changed the alt and the belt I had was to long) LOL. After finding a belt that fit and tracking down why none of the belts listed for the car wouldn't work did I find that the pump was missing. Would the removal of the smog pump cause the check engine light to come on and read "Primary and Scondary induction failure"? Any ideas would be greatlly accepted. Thanks

instead of telling us the code definition... post the code itself.
like 33, 44, 94, 174.. etc

and yes, removing the smog system WILL cause stored codes, but should not set a CEL

Had that issue when my stang didnt pass smog, turned out to be the O2 sensors! After i changed them the check engine light didnt turn on, so it passed smog. Well when i put the O/R hpipe back on im getting the check engine light again, but this time it turns on and off while im driving..., never when its idling...?
