BBK lontube install

Got some BBK longtubes. Guy I bought from said I would have to loosen engine mounts and jack it up a couple of inches to get em in. Any truth to that.

Got the longtubes and off road x pipe for 150.00. Need some good cats if anyone is selling a good set.

yep sounds about right to me... I lifted my motor up about 5-6 inches and took the steering shaft loose just in case and they slid right in...

Welcome too the lovely world of longtubes!

Thanks just wanted to make sure. This guy tried telling me his car had 600 horsepower and that he had 5000 in his engine. His heads were stock and his engine looked like ****. All he had was a k&n air filter and a cobra intake. I just acted like I believed him, took his headers for discount and left. I wonder if he actually believes the hot air he spews.

Great mods man. You'll love the sound with that and thats a smart choice going with longtubes.

Do I need to get some extended o2 wires. By the way just put on a 79 capri pace car backend, hatch and tailights on my car. Looks way better than the mustang rear.

I just read that if you have a crap AOD that the longtubes will hit the bell housing. I plan on swapping the aod for a t5. But thats a summer project. I was going to install the longtubes tomorrow. Any body know if this is true. Sorry about the lontube error. My g button was sticking. Just noticed.

If you don't have a lift get ready to put the car's front end on workstands.
I put those same headers on my car, fox body with 302 and C-4 and I had no problems....

I have the bbk ceramic coated longtubes. When I first installed them I had an issue of my steering knuckle rubbing against them preventing me from turning. Turns out my motor mounts were TRASHED! so take a good look at those while you're down there and get ready to do them as well if they haven't been done already. The driver's side header slid right into place for me from underneath the car, but i think the passenger side has to come in from the top and have the mounts loose like you mentioned to add clearance. Good luck.
