Default more bad news

I just ran a compression test on my 94 gt and came up with 86 psi on 5 and 6 and cylinder 7s spark plug was covered in oil.
Does it even sound worth it to try to fix this motor or should I just scrap it and start over? If so wheres a good place for a stock replacement? I've been looking around and the cheapest i've found even a short block is 1500. I know I could get a rebuild kit for under 400 but I don't have the tools or time to build a complete motor.
I need to figure it out soon because this is my dd. I don't know how much I can keep barrowing cars this barely runs. When I traided for the car I was told it was just the cats that were bad which I found out was true but seams like the problems are a lot more severe.

thanks. If I don't end up scrapping the whole car then I'll go with that.

well they didnt lie... the cats were bad, they were clogged with all the oil coming out of the engine...

like adder said, 50resto has that shortblock for 699+ shipping, you could always do a simple swap or maybe get some other crap to put on it and just get a $500 beater for the time being...

I'm planning on building a motor in the $3000 range. I don't want to do all the work of swapping back in a stock motor and not be happy with it.
I'm thinking of either starting with the 50resto shortblock or getting a 331 or 347 dss stroker kit for 820. I haven't gone to any machine shops to get a quote on prepping the block yet so it might end up being cheaper to get a shortblock from dss. and if thats the case that would be over my budget and I'll stick to the stock rebuild. I've never built a motor before either so if the shortblock from 50resto would hold up to what I'm planning it would be preferred.
I don't know what to really price out yet but is $3000 enough to build something decent? I'm not shooting for anything crazy but I would be happy with a motor that could put me in the 12s. I know that gets into suspension and everything else but I'm going to start with the motor first and hopefully build it right the first time.
Any suggestions on heads cams or intakes would be great. And $3000 would have to be the price for everything

the 50resto shortblock and a top end kit from TFS will give you all that you need to run 12's. After that, its all in the suspension.

that ford racing motors way to far out of my price range.

I was looking for $3000 complete and installed but doesn't look like thats happening. The 50resto short block and tfs top end kit look the closest so far but aside from the kit what would I need? It looks like just lifters and an oil pan gasket but I could be wrong? The pulleys and everything else I should be able to pull from my current motor right?

if you bought the items I listed, you could get everything else that you could need, right off your old engine.

Just buy a full gasket kit before you begin. And a new oil pump.
