Default RPM’s jumping around...

Problem...sometimes when i'm sitting at a red light my rpm's start to go up slowly until i start to go. Then when i'm driving it seems like the samething is happening and when i take my foot off the pedel the car doesn't slow down at all. I don't know if it's the throttle cable or not. Can someone help?

Also, check the throttle linkage and the hook up for the cruise control. I swapped the motor in a Super Coupe and on the test run I almost wiped out a car lot because the cruise linkage was a little jacked up. Check the simple stuff first and then you tps, throttle body, etc. just like osoquick stated.

my car does the same thing almost.... i know what the problem is on my car and its the idle control positioner thing that mounts on the side of your throttle body... Replace that.... well clean it first see if it helps if it does means its goin bad. That and the tbp ( throttle body postioner ) might have something to do with it
