Please Help with KOEO Self Test
Alright I am having some difficulty getting this KOEO test to work properly. I read the guide at http://sbftech.com/index.php/topic,2471.0.html , and I am trying to use the paperclip method that would allow me to read the codes from the flashing check engine light. I set up the DLC connector just like it says but when I turn the key on I just get a solid Check Engine Light. Any thoughts, or advice? Maybe I am hooking up the DLC wrong. Could it be an ECU issue?

Instead of using the paperclip jumper between the STO rweminal to the SIGRTN terminal, use the alternate method of installing a jumper wire from the STI terminal to a good ground (battery (-), frame or block). LUK

Ok so I bought an OBD-1 code reader and hooked it up. It ran the KOEO test just fine the first few times. Now however I am unable to get it to communicate with the car. I plug in the reader and it wont connect to the PCM. Any thoughts on why this might be happening, anyone.

Tomorrow I am going to pull the PCM and inspect it for the damage that you mentioned. It has been acting strange lately though, like when I turn it on sometimes it will go into KOER test mode. I will post back tomorrow with my findings.

Just goes into test mode without any jumper wires? Code reader not plugged in? Seen this once, Had a bad 02 sensor. Never gave code for 02. buy a Motorcraft part, tried Bosch and had problems even thought the testing without jumping leads was gone. Pure hell when mine acted up, imagine trying to drive when keeps going into KOER. Unplug 02 sensors and see if nonsense stops.
