Default 98 explorer 5.0 block

i have a 98 5.0 block out of an explorer that i put 2gether a while ago and havent touched since so i lost the dip stick. i found another dip stick for a regular mustang 5.0 block and put that in. the problem is its real hard 2 get in there. you have to almost force it in put some pressure and wiggle it around and then it will go in. once it does the dipstick tube seems to be flared a little bit bigger than the ring on the end of the dipstick to it doesnt quite seat right. Am i wrong here i thought that it should be the same dipstick for these blocks? do i need to get an explorer dipstick?
