Default Vibration.....

Ok guys ever since I have owned my stang there has been a vibration at highway speeds. I cannot figure out what is causing it and today really pissed me off as i put a new frpp aluminum DS in, and i was sure this would fix it...Well it didn't really, I can start to notice it at 75 mph and its in the steering wheel and the car. Luckily i dont ever drive on the highway cause this drives me nuts. Any suggestions? And no its not balancing I have tried 3 sets of rims.

did you check the suspension for any loose or worn parts? you tried 3 sets of rims but where they all balanced right? did the problem happen the same with all 3 sets of wheels? check the tie rods and ball joints, also what kinda shape are your motor/trans mounts in? a broken mount can cause some pretty good vibration at high speeds

is your car stick or auto? If its a stick, is you handle vibrating any buzzing noises?

Ok, well i did hit a curb a year ago but i got it checked out and the alignment was fine. The shop also did the ball joints. All my suspension is new, eibach springs, new tokico shocks, monroe quads, CC plates ect. Rims and tires are brand new and balanced from AM.

Its always been at the same speed ( just above highway speed limit) . Well my car was up on the jacks today, i did notice that on the right front there was a tiny bit of play in the inner Tie Rod, but very slight. Do you think that would be enough? Oh and my motor mounts are def worn as i had to re adjust the fan shroud a bit but it has nothing to do with rpms just a certain speed.

i had a vibration in my car too, similar symptoms... It actually took a few things to check/ change. I went to a griggs alumn d/s, and took the counterbalance off the rear axle. I had a builder (PA performance) say that once you are not running stock gears anymore those are obsolete to the car... also rebalanced wheels, and changed tranny previoulsy bc thought main gear was out of spec. Also, check your tailshaft bushing... mine was worn...

sorry I wasnt as detailed as normal, just things I had to do to get her smooth as glass, good luck

it could be any number of things with the more mods made to the suspension, like when the springs were done where the seats reused?

Yeh, or you could just replace your inner tie rod ends which are about $20 bucks at O'reilly's and are easy to put in, just rent the tool and mark the old inner tie rod where the lock nut is at and try your best to put in back in the same spot. Then go have an alignment done.

do yourself a favor and replace the whole rack and pinion cause if you mess up the inner tie rod you will have to do it anyways, also does your steering wheel feel loose and it hesitates to move the wheels like there play in it.
