4.6l to a 5.0 swap

I'm not quite sure if this question is for the 79-95 or 96-up section but here it goes I currently have a rod knock in my 96 GT and I want to know if I put a 5.0 in what all am I going to have to change since the 95 and 96 are the same as far as body goes I know the obvious the computer will have to come with the 5.0 will the motor mounts work will the tranny and such need to be switched? Just looking for a nice list as a starting point. Thanks for any help.

my guess would be mounts, bellhousing to tranny starter o2 sensors exhaust you would probably need the whole engine out of a 94-95 with all the accessory. if i were you i would just rebuild yours it will be cheaper and easier

K-member, accessories, wiring, exhaust, transmission

just buy another 4.6l

Its just that its so much cheaper to rebuild a 5.0 and very easy to find parts and cheap to replace them

buy a 96-98 shortblock and get the TF 38cc heads and intake with some custom ground cams.

will put you around 11:1 and pull hard to 7000.

obviously go with longtubes and a good midpipe/catback and some 4.10's
