3g alt swap wiring questions
I got a 88 gt with udp's and the po did a 3g 130 amp uprgrade. But I was alittle worried about the wiring. It has a single black and orange wire. The 3 wire plug and another white wire. #1. should there be 2 white wires? #2. do i need to run a 4gauge wire to the solenoid? I did some readings on it at idle its showing 14.4v no acc. on. when turning on the blower motor to hi it dips to 14v. then when i turn the headlights on it goes down to 12.8v then when fog lights are on it goes to 12.3v. I plan on putting on a electric fan.#3.the solenoid where would the 4 gauge wire go and is there any that can be removed?

Ok thanks. Should i just clip the one out of the three plug harness and cap it off? also what if any of those wires out of that harness do i need? and can anything be removed off of that solenoid?

No dont clip anything from that plug. The black and orange wire that is currently run to the alt stud is the one I did away with. I just capped it off. And my kit came with a bigger charge wire and an inline fuse. I didnt remove anything from my noid, just jammed it all on there. I dont have any good pics, all I have is just were you see my alt. Not my wiring. If its necessary Ill take pics of my wiring. Let me know.

Ok I have a mephis 200 amp wafer style fuse handy and some 4 gauge amp wire can that be used? Also there are 2 white wires the one in the plug and the other that is plugged in by its self. You said I dont need both of them right? A picture would help if it would be too much to ask. I don't like wiring.

Mine at idle is about 14.8-15 volts(I have a smaller pulley on mine though) And with my fuel pump, fan, and bottle warmer on it drops to 13.5ish,never turned the lights on to see but Iam sure it would be in the low 13's. I think your ok with what ya got.
