is the LX an automatic car or a 5-speed car? are you going carb or efi on the 5.0? these details will determine your answers. I've done this swap before, so feel free to get in touch.

ok....I can't tell you much on the wiring then; never swapped to a carb. as far as the T-5, you'll need the clutch/brake pedal assembly from a 5-speed car, the double hump crossmember to clear the exhaust, clutch cable (get a good adjustable aftermarket cable with an aluminum quadrant).

The speedometer cable will move one hole over on the firewall and the clutch cable goes through the old speedo cable hole. You may need to clearance the hole in the tunnel to clear the shifter...I did on both 5-speed swaps I did. The big pain is swapping the pedal assemblies...working upside down under the dash sucks. Like I said, any questions, send me a message. maybe someone else will be able to give you more info on what wiring you'll need to go carb.

wired my 87 gt and my buddy's 88 gt up after carb swap. didnt know if they k member and all the rest of it would work. The rear end I think it is the 7.5.I know it needs a better one but he will be doing most of the work so he can learn. Probably just get a c4 to throw in it. Will probably go 3.55 or so on gears in a 8.8 at least once we do upgrade

same k-member. I didn't even bother swapping the bigger brakes from my GT. kept the smaller 4-cyl. front discs so I didn't have to grind on the calipers for my skinnies to fit.
