Default Tach and other gauges dont work as well as alternator

I have an 88 GT with AOD. Last weekend I pulled the dash to replace the heater core, in doing so I forgot to reconnect a vacume hose for the heater vent system and also my gauges dont work. My gas gauge is the only one that works apparently, which I dont know how well it works but it moves. My speedometer works which I know is cable driven. My alternator gauge is bottomed out but it just so happens that my alternator doesnt work now either. I've done some searching with no luck.

I've checked the #18 fuse which is still good, I've removed the gauge cluster and re-installed it with no luck still. What would be a good way to troubleshoot this?

Pull the cluster back out and make sure you got the plugs in correctly and tight. The cluster has to have both plugs connected for most of the gauges to work because they are wired thru both plugs.

thats probably my problem because I only found one plug and the speedometer cable. Its alsoa 140 cluster i dont know if that matters in any way.

Thats exactly your issue then too. If one is upplugged then you are probably not charging either. The 12v signal to the alternator goes thru the cluster so if its not connected you will not get the excitation voltage that the regulator puts out.
