Default car running hotter then others?

hey all it has been a while since i have posted on here but i have a quick question. i have a 95 cobra and on the temp gauge on the the cluster the needle is in between N O R M |A L. ( so in between the M and the A) my friends 5.0 runs at the O to the R.
Just kinda wondering where every one elses is at.
Is there any chance of the water pump not pumping as much coolant as normal.
Also i believe my radiator cap might be letting some air in because my upper hose collapses after being at operating temp and cooling down.
Any feed back is welcome just kinda want to get this all taken care of befor summe time.

Thanks!
Steve

dont rely on the gauge... they arent very... well.... reliable!

If your upper hose collapses when the car cools off, you need a new radiator cap. also make sure there are no blockages in the overflow hose.

If you really want to know what temp you are at, get a good gauge, or a non-contact laser thermometer

you dont need anything higher flow than stock. buy something with a lifetime warranty.

do you know what size thermostat it has in the car? you may try stepping down one size or so. or just get a mechanical gauge. mine runs at a constant 168-172. running smooth as can be! and thats also after 5-6 passes at the drag strip!
