Default need advise

I have a 302 recent bored out .030 with forged pistons. It has 3 cylinders with scratch that made it have low compression. The pistons, rods and crank look good. The question is what do u all think I should do get another block and bore it out .030 and put my pistons, rods and crank, just put new rings and bearings. But they r flat top pistons and I have a supercharger with 8 psi. Another option I have is, bore my block. 040 and get some dish pistons but this would be more expensive for me but would like to know what I should do.

depending on your boost level in the future, the flat tops will be fine, Imo if your gonna go dished, that'll allow more boost, most likely to the point it'll split a block if you push that envelope, I'd make sure your piston skirts are not scratched and if they are fine, you could find a standard bore block and have it bored, IMO, do what is most cost effective, if .040 is, then go that route, that's to say the cylinders will clean up at that.

Getting another block and boring it .30 over will only be cost effective if you find out the block you get ( which will likely be a used block) is not cracked or defective in some other way.

You can bore the cylinders but if you go to get it decked and pressure tested which I would certainly do, it could start to get more expensive.

Given the cost of new forged pistons however it could still turn out cheaper even with the additional block work. Plus you'll have the assurance the block is good.

This is what im looking at 100 for a block, 140 to bore it n what ever comes with it. Plus The cost of new rings n bearings. If I bore mine it would be 140 to bore it plus the cost of forge pistons, rings n bearings. Can I fine forged pistons for less then 100. Let me know what I should do.

imo, id buy the other block, bore it, put your stuff in it after making sure the skirts are good as stated above. if you can find forged pistons for 100 or less, pass the info to me. better yet, dont, cause 100 forged pistons, you get what you pay for!!! remember that!!
