Completely Stumped, any advice is a help.

This all started when i took this up to bandimere speedway and made a few runs. I have 245 tires on the back, and a kenne bell blower, rebuilt rear end, TKO600 tranny, aluminum driveshaft.. (this may help understand something) I launched the car at 3000, 3200 and 3300 (x2) and each time my car nearly died.. it fell over itself taking off the line.. i would push the clutch in and try taking off slowly after that and it would still do it, (at home i would hook up at a 2400 rpm launch) Then during a run coolant was everywhere...

I couldn't make it home, i had to keep stopping, taking the coolant out of the overfill tank and refilling the radiator because it would lose so much after 10 miles or so. I had to buy more because it would lose more than what was giving back. Sometimes the radiator would be completely cool to touch, other times it would be scorching. My engine bay would be full of coolant (as if it was spraying out of the cap) and my temp gauge would rise to 250 almost immediately..
My anderson PMS system temp sensor would drop down to below 130 degrees while my temp gauge located in the intake manifold would go up to 250ish before i could shut it off.

I replace the thermostat cap in case that was a problem, and took out the thermostat, no help.. and NOW ITS STUTTERING. the car stutters through all the gears at low rpm/throttle. PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN..

by the way, when i would drive, it would stay around my thermostat for a bit before it would suddently rise. and when i took the thermostat out, it stayed at about 150 for 5 miles or so and then it sky rocketed on my temp gauge, and dropped dramatically on my PMS.. does anyone know where the sensor that determines coolant temp is located for computer input?

check for a blown head gasket, pull the plugs and look for electrode/s washed clean

agreed, sounds like a head gasket....

Either you have a large air pocket or a blown head gasket.

im gonna hop on the "you blew a headgasket" train

drewsky121 05-08-2011 11:58 AM

i was going to hop on the blown head gasket too until i checked the compression in all of the cylinders and all showed up between 99-105 (up in altitude)

drewsky121 05-08-2011 11:59 AM

and why would that cause the coolant to flow outside the coolant overfill tank?i mean its pouring out after a couple miles and the tank is full within 1.5 miles...

if you have replaced the rad cap, and its still spewing coolant, you blew a gasket somewhere.

if your compression is good (the numbers you posted are not good) and its still spewing coolant, you should check your intake gaskets

sounds like a head gasket to me also. seen the symptoms over and over. A compression test will not always show a blown head gasket.you may have to have it running to even see the symptoms of it. I have even put a pressure test on the cooling system and had no real pressure lost and still had a bad head gasket it would only leak on boost. which it kind of sounds like you are having the same issues.
