Exclamation 87 5.0 347 piston help

I have a 5.0 HO motor from a 87/88 mustang. I just baught a 347 stroker kit from eagle for it. Did NOT come with pistons (got on craigslist for 400$) Was wonder the size pistons I need.
I had a friend help me, he found pistons for standard bore (but came out to be almost 600$) Was wondering if going .030 over would open up room for other pistons and if so what type, and specs should I look for? If you want the info. I look'd up the pistons he found and wrote there numbers down here they are. This will be a NA motor. Im trying to push over 350. I have trickflow Cam,heads (trackheats) and intake.

4.0 Bore
3.4 Stroke
5.4 Rod
1.090Rcompheight
0.927 PIN
-6cc volume

Hope someone can help me or steer me in correct direction. Thanks.

When you put in a longer stoke crank you need either shorter rods or pistons with a different pin location, find someone that knows engine building and buy him a beer or 6. When you buy a stroker Kit, it usually comes with crank rods and pistons for that crank. The rotating assembly has to be balanced also.

sell the 5.4" rods and buy 5.315" rods. Then get a set of 1.175" CH pistons.

the 5.4" "long rod" 347 is where the old oil burning stereotype comes from. Its just better to avoid it.

you dont add shorter rods with a longer crank!

You dont have to use a set of 600$ pistons!

a .030 gets you 347, 4.000 gets you 342. and .040 gets you 349 cuin!
with a tfs toped 347 you will get your 350 hp easily!

I use 5.400 rods and the pins are nowhere near the rings. Keep the 5.400 rods.
You need a piston of the proper compression hieght.
BTW, are the rods bushed?

Are you using 5.4" rods on a 3.4" crank, or a 3.25" crank?

It's a 3.400 crank.
Very short compression hieght pistons.
Got the stuff from Probe in California couple years ago.
I think he could those same pistons for about $400.
