Default Exhaust for my stang?

What do you guys think i should throw on my stang to make it sound like a killa? I have an 86 with a 302 bored 40 over with just about every racing part imaginable in front of and AOD tranny, I just dont have an exhaust. What would be the best set up?

Here we go..... I'll start this one off i guess. I have BBK headers, BBK off-road H-pipe, and Flowmasters. I think that sounds great. If you want it real loud put dumps on your setup. I still have the tails on mine cause I like how it sounds.

Do you think running shorty headrers, an off-road x-pipe without mufflers would be to loud for the street?

Yeah it probably would be. You would also have to worry about having the wrong backpressure cause you wouldnt have any mufflers. IMO go with the H-Pipe. X pipe is better on the 4.6 cars. H pipe sounds deeper and throatier, X pipe is more raspy.

give us some specs on the car. Also all you need is shortie headers 1 5/8's will work you really dont need LT unless you are racing and want to spend the extra money then a O/R H or X pipe. The H has a deep tone and the X has a raspier tone then a catback of your choice a list of good brands: Flows (which everybody has and is a chamber design), dynomax ultra flows ( thats what i have and is a straight though design for max hp), magnaflow, and MAC. You can also do dumps or tails dumps it will be loud, exhaust gases exit under the car and you will lose some low end torque. With tails the exhaust will exit out the back and will quiet down the tone a little and gain the torque back you would have lost with dumps.
