Default GT-40 P Whats compatable

Hey guys i am working on a project car, the old 4cyl conversion.
I am going to have to get an engine, i have a used one in mind which i will rebuild myself with a bit of help. Stock lower end.
The heads though i am thinking about going for a mild upgrade to the stock e7's with a GT 40 P head...
My question is what model head is compatable with my 87-93 block?
I have a set being sold which i may try to buy off of a 98 explorer.
Is this compatable?
What model explorer came with the heads?
Are there any modifications which i will need to make?
What cam do you reccomend, something mild prefered. I was thinking of the ford B cam.
Also considering the low budget, is there another rout which you believe may be better for my $$$
Thanks for any help you can provide.

P heads are from 97 1/4 to 01. they work with no problems on a HO block. you will need to get specific headers unless you have a set of bbk shorty unequals. there are others that work as well but i cant vouce for those. i have teh bbk unequals and can contest they work. just need mulit angle spark plug wires

explorer V8s had this motor, also take the intake as well. is worth it and agood bang for the buck. personally i wouldnt go b cam i would go with the TFS1 cam and keep the1.6 rockers. unless you have these headers port/polished. .500 is around the max effiecent lift you want to use on these heads
