Default Getting Harmonic Balancer Bolt off

Does anyone know a way to get the big balancer bolt without using an impact. I already tried using a breaker bar with the car in a high gear but the engine would still just keep turning over.

Put it in gear and and have someone hole the brake or set the park brake. Worked for me.

Alright sounds good. I thought hitting the ratchet might damage something.

hitting a ratchet will break the ratchet if hit too hard to many times.

Don't care too much about the ratchet. I figured hitting something that was hanging off the end of the crank could possibly do something to the motor was all
