Default push rods and rockers

I plan on changing my rockers to 1.6 and am wondering if I will need to change pushrods. My heads are stock heads and if I change rockers will I need different valvecovers. Also what will a 1.6 ratio do for my stock motor.

you do know that you have 1.6 rockers now. so changing them to RR 1.6s wont matter for PR lenght

no I did not know that a 94 5.0 had 1.6 rockers . so how would stock heads handle 1.7 rockers .

It's a popular bolt on that's worth some ponies, your heads can handle it and your piston/valve clearance will be alright, I'm not sure if you'll need diff. push rods though.

No, you don't need new pushrods for his mod. You may need some thicker valve cover gaskets, or new covers. I have 1.7s in my 95GT, and only did it because I had my heads redone with bigger valves and a little porting done. If you're not taking the top end apart, don't bother, go get a new, shorter, rear end, or a CAI, or headers.

i plan on getting some heads with larger valves and thought it a good idea to change rockers. I wasn't sure what I would need to go up a size. What heads did you go with and how did it turn out. And do you know a good set of valve covers that will clear the valves.

I actually just ported my stock heads myself, and took them to a shop to have oversized valves thrown in. Did a cam at the same time, and valve covers, headers, and tbody. Runs like a champ, just want a dyno/custom chip tune now. Don't know what pushrods you will need with new heads, but if I had money, I'd buy some AFR 165s. Ask the guys where you will buy your heads from for some tech advice, or try summit, they have answered a lot of questions for me.
