Default Good News

I finnished the assembly of a 5.0 liter engine for my Nephew. It had to pass emissions or I would have went more aggressive with the cam for power. It has light wieght flat top pistons and the balance shop had to remove a lot of metal off the crank to balance it. It revs very fast because of this. There are more bolt ons needed when the money is there down the road so there is power left in the package. Anyway, it was run on the Dyno at DaSilva's performance shop and it made 350 HP. They claim when we get the combo sorted out in the car it will run low 12's on engine so I am very happy with the outcome. It was a lot of hard work and very time consuming but the end result was worth it. Can't wait to get the rest of the car set up and go to the track.

It went into a 1989 5.0 LX hatch back car. You should here this thing. Even though it has a Ford Racing E303 cam it still sounds very stout. If we can get the carhooking up at the drag strip I am sure we'll see 12.50's or 12.30's. The engine has extremely quick throotle response due to the light wieght internals. We removed 2.5 pounds just by going light wieght pistons. Can't wait to get it ready for the track. The engine has AFR 185 heads, E303 cam, 1 5/8 in BBK headers, H pipe, 1.7 Cobra roller rockers, Cobra intake, 24# inj, 70 mm throttle body, 73 mm mass air meter, and about 9.2 to 1 comp. It is quick for the small displacement.

What transmission are you running? Engine specs sound great man. Good luck at the strip.
