Sparkplugs/removal

Sparkplugs/removal
First - I am a geezer with a 1993 5.0 LX CV I bought for my second childhood - a stock, low mileage car. The shop manual says to change plugs every 30,000 miles. I am at 61000, don't know if they have ever been changed. Past posts show the Autolite 25 to be a standard plug. Is this correct? Any trickery required to remove the plugs? I am more used to working on the 289's in the early Mustangs.
Is there a danger in stripping the threads removing the plugs? A section in the shop manual covers removing the head and tapping the plug threads.
I know this is elementary for most of you but I would appreciate the info. Thanks

I changed out the sparkplugs in my 92 GT 5.0 convertible with no idea what I was doing. I found it easier to do it one at a time so I wouldn't get any wires switched up or get lost. Not sure about the Auto-lite 25's. I decided since I had a 5.0 GT it would be better to spend a little extra just in case. I ended up getting Bosch Platinum Plus 4's. My car seemed extremely happy to get them. As far as stripping the threads goes, I used a magnetic 5/8 socket and gently took my time getting them out. When I put in the new ones I put them in by hand and then tightened with the socket the rest of the way.
Hope this helps..

except for that fact that tho ports are different... the chambers are different sizes... one has hardened seats, one doesnt... pedestal vs stud rockers etc etc... yeah they bolt right up

Holy **** dude i was just trying to convey that he has already done this job before on the older 289. If a person has changed plugs on a 289 he has changed plugs on a 5.0
