Default floor and center console getting hot!

last night was the first real cruise night I have had with my car since getting her running. after awhile of normal driving, and maybe alittle hot ******* I noticed the floor around the center hump was warm and gettting warmer, soon I could feel the heat right on the center console. I have a off road h-pipe with shortie headers, I know they are not sitting right on the floorboards, so what could make them be putting off so much heat? could my timing be off or something? I compared it to my buddies GT that was running with us last night, and his car was no where near the temp on the center console as mine, my engine temp never got above 196F.

Are you missing the rubber shift boot that goes under your upper shift boot ( the shift boot you see in the car). or maybe thier is a hole in it.
