Hello everyone,

My 89 vert is leaking gas only when running. This never happened before. I did a little weekend project recently. I took the upper intake off and repaired the valve cover gaskets. I cleaned the intake inside and out. I put everything back together and went to start the car. It seemed to be running very rough and kept stalling out. I thought maybe I missed a vacuum line somewhere. I checked everything and this is not the case. My car is in my garage and I went to go out of the garage for a moment and notice a puddle of gas under my gas tank. I cleaned it up and it has not leaked since. What could be causing this? I am sure this is the cause for the rough idle and stall. Thanks for your time in reading this and hopefully helping me!!!

Anyone? I will probably drop the tank this weekend. I just want to know what I should be looking for. The pump is pretty new. Thanks!

sounds like the steel line from the tank to me... doesnt make sense if you only worked on the upper. but if the fuel is coming from there...thats my bet.

might wanna check the filter and connections b4 you drop the tank.

did you need to remove an fuel lines at all for whatever you did ?

Nah, I didnt mess with the fuel rails or lines. I only took the upper off just to get to the valve covers and cleaned it while it was off. OK, So I will look at the steal line coming from the gas tank. Thanks!
