They automatics are fun to different people I guess, they are great for stop light races too. and if you are in stop and go traffic alot it's easier on you.

i prefer the 5spd because then you dont need a trans cooler, shift kit or a stall converter to rip around and have fun. straight out of the box 5spds are quicker and get better gas mileage.

But no matter how much money you put into a manual, a modified automatic (depending on what type and what is done to it) will be faster.

yea sticks are a lot of fun. it seems like all the old people hate them because they are bored of them. i am having fun with it. IMO you look better if your driving a stick and its more fun while racing. instead of just holding the gas you also have to shift and its exciting to slam down the clutch and shift into another gear. besides you can also rev up a little before launching if you want to drop the clutch and burn out.

Everyone has their perconal preference and I agree with everyone else the 5 spd. Is way more fun. Since you already bought the car. Take that money and put it into the rest of the car. If you make it fast no ones going to say anything to you about not driving a stick, because you'll be ahead of them. Biggest thing, if you wanted a 5 spd. why didn't you consider that when buying the car? IMO having the 5 spd. can make you faster, (stock to stock anyway)you'll have more fun with it, labor and parts are generally cheaper. However having a 5 spd. will (for some people, not all of us hit our shifts all the time) miss a gear on those occasional races. Although it is funny when you miss a gear and still beat the hell out of some rice burner.

sorry but for some of the ppl that said **** you pussies that hate on sticks. lets race, i only have an auto. while youre trying to figure out how to launch or how to shift at teh correct time and not miss a shift. wait dont over think shifing, all **** kid you just missed a shift and lost even worse.

sticks can be fun if you know how to drive, also racing a stick is like and auto. you keep it floored and just slightly tap the gas and move the shifter. if you are pressing inthe clutch 100% you are costing yourself valuable time and speed. with saying that sticks and autos are just about the same once youre at WOT. you keep it there and just tap the clutch

I never said that having a stick was better for racing... cause its not... I was saying that I like it alot more than an auto.
