they are usually pressed in pretty good. You might have to put some heat to it, or get vise grips in there.

the guy i got the cam off put the short one in there i need the long one

or you could run an electric fuel pump... that way you dont risk damaging the cam.

I run the short dowel on my mechanical pump. 2 piece eccentric.
