inexpensive way to build 300-3
My car's an '88 GT 5 sp. I'm going to be sanding it down to prime it this christmas, and afterward, rebuild it.I plan tobracket race it, and it will have an auto by then. What kind of mods should I look at to get over 300 hp out of it? It's about stock right now. What stroker kits are available, where and at what price? I'm not looking for basic bolt ons, but I'm not looking to spend what I would on a top fuel car. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Well there is no inexpensive way to make a car fast. Speed costs money and for one thing you should check out DSS Racing. There 331 and 347 stroker kits are really nice and not too much either. a 306/331/347 are all like $1100 all very nice with forged pistons ready to handle whatever basicly. Set of heads would be about the same $1000+ Cam 180 + etc etc

buy used hipo parts and yes the juice you'll need a nice stall for thr automactic and a shift kit...coarse you can buy an engine cheaper than building it and can have some input to as what going into it..

What about using the stock block, it's got an aftermarket cam - i can find out details. Can I get a crank, connecting rods, and pistons and maybe heads for less than going all out? I dont want to use spray. I would prefer natrally aspirated, buta supercharger may be needed.

What do you think?

read it again he has a list in order 306/331/347 its right there. Not a big deal i just wasnt aware that anyone made a 306 stroker kit even more importantly there would be no sense in it considering a .030 over 302 is a 306.
