ok i took a look at it and the vacuum wasent bad but when i pushed on the controls closer to the unit and the lever moved but it still didnt change the air movement from the floor, i also looked at the lines and they looked good, there grouped together but doesnt look like they r grounding out. do you think it could be the unit itself and not the wires?

Ok when you turn the switch to a different setting does the fan actually shut off, or does it continue to blow onto the floor?

ok when i looked at the controls and put pressure on it i could move the lever but it would only stay in floor mode. when i put it back on and everything the lever would only move from floor to windsheild and still only stayed on floor. it will not move anywhere else and when you put it to the windsheild the motor turns off.

Wish I could help you more but this doesn't make sense, because the duct doors are all vacuum operated besides the blend door. If you can source another control panel for free or cheap. Would give it a try

to me it sounds like some kinda short going on, but vacuum cant short out your motor. I would get me a volt meter and start checking the terminals.
