86 newbie

ok i have an 86 5.0 with stock suspension. I am getting a noise from an arm that starts on top of the rear end and ends right next to the frame by the rear spring coil. It is making a clicking noise that when moves the bushing moves and that makes the noise. I am sure its coming from this because i took a stethoscope to it. It is only on the right rear side. My question is what is this arm called? My shop teacher wasn't for sure but he said it might be called the trailing arm. Is this what its called?? Anything will help. Thanks

They are called control arms, they just aren't a control arm most people are use to.

No, that sounds like your quad shocks. Like this:

They are installed from the factory to control wheel hop caused by the crappy factory control arms. If you upgrade to a set of quality control arms like these, you can remove the quad shocks altogether.

i took a stethoscope to both and it was distinctively louder on the control arm. are the bushings pressed in?? if there not then it looks like an easy fix.
