Question skipping at 4000-4500 rpm plz help me!!!

I am new here so hello to everyone. i have a 90 lx 5.0 i just got and changed plugs, wires, dist cap and rotor also air temp sensor and cleaned huge k&n filter. car is stock with 5-speed, shorty headers, no cats and obviously huge k&n filter. After doing all that the car started skipping at high rpm (around 400-4500). Could it be something i did or maybe filter too big which would be too much air. any and all help will be greatly appreciated

Airflow velocity and volume are determined by the runner size of your head/intake combo, nothing really to do with the pipe/filter combo.

As for the problem, any time you have an engine that just can't seem to keep up with the throttle pedal, it's a safe bet you have a coil that's gettin ready to kick it.
