new cam
was planning on 1.7 RR but decided to go with a cam instead. What is a good cam for stock motor in 94 GT. Also trying to find a set off cheep castiron heads with larger valves. All opinions and advice are welcome.

RE: new cam
If the motor is pretty much stock leave the stock cam in it, your better off doing all the bolt ons first. As for heads look for a set of GT-40 or GT-40P heads

RE: new cam
but GT40 heads are alluminum right. I prefer iron heads cause I don't want to risk the chance of overheating and warping the heads. How possible is it to overheat alluminum heads. And what other bolt ons would I do ( give me a good place to start). And wouldn't be cheaper to do cam while top of motor is apart?

RE: new cam
no there are gt40 and gt40p heads, they are also called "explorer heads" because they come off a ford explorer.
|
RE: new cam
the gt 40 heads are iron.
|
RE: new cam
they do sell gt40's in aluminum.

RE: new cam
will GT40 heads work with all factory parts like push rods , headers, valve covers , and intake. Will any porting need to be done to the intake ?
|
RE: new cam
gt40s are iron heads. gt40y, gt40z and etc are aluminum
your spark plugs will need to change if you use the gt40s |
RE: new cam
get a set of p heads...do a 5 angle valve job,and light porting with some 1.7 rocker and it should wake up
