Now, i have a T-5 trans and now when i'm driving i'm having a hard time putting the stick into the gears. Does it mean i need a new shifter, trans, trans fluid???

synchros...i have that prob wit 2nd gear. you might just be shiftin too quick and lettin the clutch out too soon. make sure you're not doin that first. it's hard for me to put it in 2nd, and if i try and put it in too quick (not just speed shiftin), it'll grind. so synchros are probably the problem

Mine does that in reverse when the autochoke has the car on high idle. Sometimes I just shut it off, and start the car in reverse. The first drive of the day is backing out of the driveway, so it works out.</P>

With the synchros going bad, can't i just get a short throw shifter to solve it or do i have to get an all new Trans?

could be several things
1. stretched clutch cable
2. clutch fork bent
3. replace quadrant: this will pick up the slack in cable
4. replace shifter or aleast the rubber gourmet in it
5. try some syth. oil
6. I 'm sure the syco's have some wear as all the above will help

Ok, i just talked to someone and he asked me if i can easily shift the car when it's off and i can. He thinks it might be the clutch then. True?
