Lightbulb thermostat vs fan switch temp

ok i have a bone stock 95 gt 5 speed. factory fan will not come on. i replaced the factory temp switch to find out it still wont come on.. so i figured id buy a aftermarket fan temp controler. my main question is what temp should the fan come on at vs the thermostat temp ??.. car seems to hover around the 190 degree with the fan wired to a toggle switch. i was thinking a 200 degree temp fan relay switch.. but i want to make sure.. i can change the thermostat if 190 is too hot..

nvermind i know what you are talking about now.. its that little box thats mounted to that bracket.. after some digging i found out that it has to be a type "R" ccrm. even if it has the same part number it has to be a type "R" to work. so ima gonna call around to some junk yards to see if i can locate one in the morning.. hope it will make the factory temp gauge work too.. if not i can alway hook up the sunpro in a pod! thanks man!

The temp sender is at front drivers side of intake single wire. Ground that wire and turn key on gauge should head to hot ..turn key off do not let it max. Need new sending unit if it does this and upper radiator hose feels hot after operating temperature. Advance has rebuilt unit for around $90(ccrm).

i already replaced the temp sensor with a new one. i got a junkyard ccrm yesterday but i didnt have time to install it.. im so hoping that this ccrm fixes this electric fan issue.. did you know that you have to have the type R ccrm. even if its the same part number it has to be a type R to work on a gt. i dont think the one on the car is a type R. i just bought the car and im trying to fix everything the right way. back to factory.

When I got my 94 GT the fuel pump hot was spliced w/ the taillights and the fan didn't work.
Toggle switch for the fuel pump and used the fog light switch for the fan......for about 6 months I ran it this way until I had a chance to do some research......eventually found someone who had a similar problem. After confirming their prob was fixed I used the same fix.....Now, the fuel pump was the PIP in the dizzy...but for whatever reason, the fan began working after dizzy replacement also. So, if someone knows why that would make a diff, maybe there is an possible angle there....

I would figure that the computer may not think it needs the fan when it has been rigged up like that.

perhaps instead of continuing to throw your money away, you should get a DVOM and do some wire probing.

If you would like to turn power on for the fan while testing to see where your problem is, you can disconnect the cars ECM.

If you were smart, you would stop pissing away your cash and start taking my advise.
