driveshaft rubs?
#11
Only a wrong tranny crossmember / hugely oversized tranny bushing would do that. But even still... a lot of people, including myself, run aluminum driveshafts which have a larger diameter than the stock steel driveshafts and do not have this issue. Something else is at work here, I think.
Is your floor dented/bashed up? Are you sure a shoddy exhaust isn't hitting the driveshaft? How do you KNOW that when the car is loaded with passengers(and I'm guessing you're not underneath to see, at this point) that the driveshaft is the problem? Can you see wear marks on the driveshaft where it is rubbing?

I'll try my best to describe how to fix it, the thread I used had pictures but with a new computer comes lost webages. There is a bracket under the car just past the end of the tranny that secures the 1 - 2 cable setup for the parking brake. It was spot welded quite poorly by the factory and can snap right off, this bracket will run the driveshaft and when its bent will drag the cables down where they rub the driveshaft. There are a lot of ways to fix it but the most common thing is to drill some holes and use screws to re attach the bracket, then make a little plat to hold the cables up. I'll do some looking to see if I can find the article/thread that had all the pretty pictures
