Hey, I bought a 91 Ford mustang GT 5.0, it's been running good, only has about 49,000 miles on it, but the check engine light came on today I was running it for a bit. The gauges in the dash were all fine, I am going to change the oil tomorrow and put my flowmaster exhaust back on in the morning. I checked the antifreeze (pulled the cap off it looks full and it doesn't look bad), not sure if its heating up a bit maybe, what should I do, I don't have a manual, thanks?

Check the codes... go to autozone they will check it for free and come back and tell us the code #'s they said.... so we can tell you what the problem is ?

Alot of part stores can't pull OBD1 codes anymore....

You can buy the ford Obd1 code scanner from amazon for like $20.

Can you count? Got a paper clip? Save your money and purchase a Haynes manual for $20. projectresto83 has the proper site listed for tests.

Thanks everyone, the light went off on it's own, I changed the oil and put a new oil filter in and it went off, hasnt come back on since. Now the check coolant light just came on this morning when a friend and I went for a drive, I will make a new post about this maybe you guys can help me with that. I will put all details in the new post and I'll call it "Low Coolant light came on, 1991 GT 5.0"
