i took the key lock out and unplugged it and the radio and power locks, windows are still powered this is making me angry [:@] and after a few days of the car just sitting it will cause the batt to go dead and it sits almost all week cause i only drive it when its nice out on the weekends

i dont get what u r saying, r the windows working also when the key is off.
the radio could be hooked up to the memory wire ( thought about that)

yeah the windows power locks and radio all stay active when the key is completly out of the ignition i can turn the radio off so no music is on but if i wanted to i could turn it on w/o the key same with the windows no key but windows roll up and down. this memory wire what could be wrong with it and where is it

how about make sure you dont have the wrong wires on the solenoid. some shouldnt be connect to the one positive side of the battery. somehow your getting power to things you shouldnt

The memory wire hooks up to the back of the radio, it is yellow, If your windows work w/ the key out i guess it might not be the memory, but it could be a wierd chance something is messed up. Just pop the stereo out and check that the yellow wire leads to the radios yellow wire from it's harness and that it is not spliced w/ anyother wires like the red ignition wire.

factory stereo, or did you happen to forget to mention you or someone installed aftermarket deck?

Sounds like bad install and someone was splicing wires to get power and made things live rather then running off the ignition/ but hard to tell without seeing or having any more info.

the radio was installed correct no wires were spliced but i will double check it, also on the solenoid there should only be one wire the positive to the starter i belive on 1 post and all the rest on the other, but please correct me if im wrong on that

this might sound stupid, but are you making sure you push the button to turn the key all the way back so that it isn't left in the acc position? Your key or ignition might be stripped, and letting you pull out the key before it's all the way off. But then again, you said you replaced the ignition, right? The reason I asked this is because I had this same problem before- and I realized that I was just being a dumba$$ and not pushing the button in to turn the key back. I only drove my car like once a week too, so I forgot I had to push the button in and my key was also stripped, so it came out easy.

Hi all im new to the forum. i am having these same problems with my 93 gt. as stated above when i take my key out f the ignition i still have power to my windows and radio. i have tried everything. new key switch, new ignition switch( one on colum). Stangman hasnt been on in two years or i would ask him if he ever fixed it. any other suggestions than the ones stated above? thanks.
