RE: new guy needs help making up his mind!
Ty, Im partial to the 94-95 and have found listings for them in the 35-4500$ range for Cobras though you could certainly spend more.My brother and mom both had '89 GTs and because my bro modded them a bit both were WAY faster than my 94 GT or a stock Cobra of that year but both of them (mom and bro) like the ride and handling of my gt way more. If youve got 10 grand to spend you can get a nice cobra (or a GT/LX/sn95) and modify it substantially and end up with an really fast ride. Good luck. Im sure which ever way you go youll love your car.

I got my 94 Cobra for $8,500, runs great, 105,000 solid body, couple chips, no dings though. I think I got a good deal, not great by any means. Altough while I was looking at the car the guy selling it did have someone call and ask about it and he offered him 9,000 without even seing it in person. But I was there I drove 4 hours to look at it. He sold it to me, because he said if he was in my shoes he'd be pissed if someone made an offer over the phone and the seller took it. Anyway, I know for a fact the Hatches weigh in at 2775 and the 94-95 Cobras weigh in at 3077, I believe the GT 94-95's are about 60 pounds under the Cobras. Your going to love the Cobra man, I've driven both, and the Cobra was definatly the right choice for me.

I've had a number of Mustangs and there are pluses and minuses for all years. I'm the original owner of my 85 and still love the car. The best Mustang I ever owned? A red 68 GT. Nothing compares. The newer models are a little bigger which means more weight. Never warmed up to the body style. Designed by a woman to attract more women drivers, not to appeal to the muscle car enthusist. Ford took a lot of flack for that initially. Its why we saw a progression of performance options as years went by, until we finally had the 03/04 Cobra that was a little more squared off with sharper edges and lines.
Whats important is that you buy what you want and not what others think is better. Everyone has an opinion. Surf this site for a couple months and you'll really see that.

my buddy has a notchback i ought to see what his weighs in at...i believe the notches are the lightest ever made correct?? and then the hatch??....i think the weight is a big issue for me because the lighter you are means the less horsepower you need to run to get really fast...but my worry is that if i went with a fox....besides the motor i wouldnt know what to look for drivetrain wise to see if it is in good condition because more than likely you foxes are ganna have the miles on them and they are almost old enough to where people are starting to restore them...am i correct?

sn95s are 300 more then the gt which makes the fox about 3 car lengths farther ahead in a stock race, but remember once you do all the conversions to the fox that the sn95 has your somewhat close to the weight of the sn95 both can be made fast go with what style you like better and how much cash flow you have.
