whats the way to shut up a grinding speedometer?... new one or can it just be oiled? thanks

never heard of this one...... if its grinding then it sounds like part of the gear has broke off already....I would replace the gears on it...

maybe i shouldnt of said "grinding" its just noisy depending on the weather!

the cable can make that noise when its wearing out, if you have graphite lube for things like motorcycle cables then that could help, its decently common. If it is the speedo making the noise then I don't have a clue what you could do.

^^^as he stated, some have claimed to of dumped graphite down the cable sheath and it quiets it, as long as it's not the head unit making noise, sometimes when the cable is binding due to lack of lube, apart from the noise, it'll have erratic operation/bobbing back and forth
