car running lean

car running lean
i have a 1986 mustang 5.0. I just recently replaced some parts because the car was stuttering in low rpms after it got warm like it was a vaccuum leak. So i decided i would change some stuff while fixing the hoses.
I took the upper and lower intake off and replaced the gaskets. Also I replaced the o rings and caps on the injectors. and added a MSD distributor. well after all that was done i started it up and it fired up like nothing was even changed. I go to drive it and the car starts to miss REALLY bad at about 2k RPM that it wouldnt even go any higher than 2k. acts like a rev limiter and just sounds terrible. So today i go and make sure the timing is set at 14 degrees. still the same thing. So i check the fuel pressure and it is at 40 with key on. then while running it goes from 40 down to 28 while idling. so then i pull a plug and it is white. pull another and it is white also. so i figure it is lean. does anyone know common culprits of this? the car didnt run lean before so it seems like it was something i did while replacing gakets that messed it up? could i have missed something? or could i have damaged the injectors?
any help would be appreciated. thanks
