Thanks guys for all the info. I'm going to try to get the tranny out this weekend if the weather works out. After reading everyones thoughts I guess I should at least have mine looked at and see where I stand. I was talking to my brother in law and he has a local he's used in the past for a couple of his cars and he trusts his judgement. And if I can save money I can put it somewhere else lol.

Ideally I think down the road I want to keep the car looking pretty stock but black interior and competition orange paint this summer and as many suspension upgrades I can afford, it's pretty worn out and had a backyard job to lower the stock springs. I'm thinking a 331 or 347 down the road. The engine in the car has 97k miles and for the most part except for minor electrical demons runs "good" so hopefully I can do all the other things first. Im not thinking anything crazy, just enough to be fun.
