AOD Whine

AOD Whine
I installed a TCI AOD w/a 3000 TCI stall a while ago. I have about 500 or so miles on it and it has developed a loud whinning sound when it is cold. It does get quieter once it gets up to temperature. Ived pinpointed the noise to inside the transmission and I suspect the front pump is the issue. (removed belt and ran it so its not an accessory)
Has anyone had any experence with just replacing the front pump? Who knows what I will find once I get the trans out but the trans operates exactly as I want it to. Fluid looks good too.

Its not normal at all. Sounds like the car has a blower. I have pinpointed the noise and it is coming from the bellhousing. This is why I suspect the pump.
My question is if anyone has ever replaced a pump only before.

haha its not normal.....sorry your the joke here
after my 3rd failed attempt at an AOD in my '90 gt it was whining when i sold it, it lasted 2 months b4 b4 it locked up on the new owner
note to self : TCI sucks, go lentech or do a t5 conversion
i only say this after 6 mustangs and 22 years of 5.0 ownership

The pump is really easy to change there are 6-7 bolts and 2 of the holes are used for the pump to be removed then replace the pump with a new one and bolt it back down do this in a vertical position where most of your internals wont shift around!
While the pump is loose dont move the input shaft if you can help it.
on the back of the pump there are a few bolts you can remove and inspect the internal gears on the pump, looks like your typical oil pump setup just bigger!
If you need any further help pm me and i`ll see what i can do.
