Default Plugs and wires

I'm going to tune up my 87 LX 5.0. What plug and wire combo do you guys recommend? Motorcraft platinums? Single or Double?

Thanks,
Roger

What do you have done to the engine? If you have some performance parts i used the Autolite Racing Plugs from Advance Auto Parts part Number AR25 and if you have the money i went with MSD wires.

yes auto lites are the ticket..now for the wires you want to wire with the least resist...so never buy those FMS wires...msd ,accel have some around 25 ohms per foot vs your 500 ohms per foot

Thanks for the input, I think I will go with the autolites. I just purchased the car and there are some mods. BBK 70mm TB,
headers, BBK cold air kit, cobra intake, cam, Crane cams fireball ign box and I was told it has some heads off a 5.0 explorer on it. What would these heads bring me in added perfofmance? I pulled one of the plugs that it had in it and it was a single platinum motorcraft. The plug was a dry and black and you could wipe off the black deposit. Is my car running rich? It hasn't been running worth a _ _ _ t ! I just replaced the TFI and a least it quit popping. Now I just need to set the timing. But before I do that I want to replace a few things and a tune up.

This is a great place and I glad I found it!
Thanks for all you help,
Roger

Personally, I've bought the Performance Distributors' Firepower Package Ignition Kit. You get the 10mm wires, rotor, cap, dyna-mod as well as the coil. I bought NGK Iridium plugs with this kit and let me tell you, it runs great Good luck with the car

That package looks like a good deal but seems to be kinda expensive. I need new wires and I'm going to get a coil when I do it, I'm going to go with the blaster TFI coil.

It's expensive but you know, we don't buy ignition kits everyday So why not buy the one you want the most for some extra bucks? :P Personally I can tell you it's really good. Peace
