started tearing apart my stang today in preps for the twisted wedge heads, comp cams cam(xe270HR), bbk 70mm throttle body, comp cam ultra gold roller rockers, some new pushrods, and the trick flow track heat intake. all goes well so far. Not a big fan of pretty much all the bolts that havent been touched since 1989, but its nothing my impact cant handle. ill keep ya guys posted as a guy. also im not allowed to post pics yet so heres a link for them.

Be careful with old bolts, impacts will easily break the heads off if they are corroded enough. Aluminum bolts in an iron block = galvanic corrosion.

I'm in the same boat as you right now. The old bolts are a pain and transfering all the little goofy parts onto the new stuff is time consuming. I'd spray everything with penatration oil a few times before hitting them with a wrench. Seams to help.

some more pics at the link above of the rocker arms and cleaned up piston heads. Cam swap was a lot easier than i thought it was going to be, just have to make sure you remember to take the lifters out and remember or mark what you have for timing. Do all the 5.0s have those kind of pistons?

Yes, those are the standard hypertonic pistons used in 5.0s. Here is a pic of my engine after I rebuilt it and cleaned it up:
