Default Finally real mods

Well I just got some gt40p heads on ebay, and when they get here, I am also going to put in my E cam. I am thinking about gasket matching the heads and my stock intake manifold but is there anything else I should do? Ive never done work like this before but I am pretty good with mechanics, is this something that isnt to hard to tackle or should I pay to have these things installed? Also, do I need to get different spark plugs for these heads?

I think you have to get different headers with the P heads.

Quik said his bbk shorties worked with the P heads, just needed angled spark plug wires....I hope anyways. But also, I just realized you gotta mess with the ac system so im gonna have somebody install these for me. I got a family friend that does car work for us for $20 an hour.

Also, I know it gets asked a lot but what kind of hp and 1/4 mile times should i make with the mods in my sig, the heads and e cam? Im going to at least gasket match the heads and port the upper and lower intake, then when i get some more money im gonna get the typhoon intake.

20hr..were you at?*L*...I would atleast have new seals put in the heads and lap the valves, and shave a few 1000ths off for a better seal

yep bbk shorties work fine but there is one catch. to change the plugs on the driver side you will need to remove the header. number 7 is the one that needs 90* boot. rest just need angled boots but you could run all 90* i wrapped my number 7 tube and used a 90* i got some room there so its ok. putting on the plug wire is a pain but it can be done.

i personally would take the heads to a machine shop nad have them hot tanked. make sure you didnt get ripped off. then while youre at it you might want to have them decked so you know they are trued up cause they could be warped.

yes you will need specific spark plugs. just tell them you got a cobra or explorer. they use the same plugs

also if youre using the P heads its time to upgrade the springs. if you do springs install new valve seals and might as well do a valve job. all this can be done for about 200 bucks. its safe insurance

that cam and those heads with stock intake youll see about 30hp hopefully. [remember i shoot low on my figures]

Oh and Quik, did you mean the hot tanking, decking, springs, valve seals, and valve job can all for about $200, or just the machine work for $200?
