5.0L (1979-1995) MustangTechnical discussions on 5.0 Liter Mustangs within. This does not include the 5.0 from the 2011 Mustang GT. That information is in the 2005-1011 section.
i can buy a nice bodied 4-cylinder 87 convertible for $800, would it be worth the time to put my 5.0, tranny, rearend, and wheels in it to get a 5.0 vert?????? i have an 88 with no hopups as of yet, but am in the process of getting a few things for it, the inner fenders on my 88 are starting to go fast, the rest of the 88 (which is a hatchback) is not too bad, so is it worth it??????
Opinion? Walk away from it and get a V8 car to begin with. The suspension is lame at best with the 4 bangers. You will spend more money upgrading that 4 banger, than if you sell it and start with a V8 to begin with. You asked for an opinion. That's mine.
You can pick up a decent 5.0 for under 2k no problem. I got mine for 1500 and I have had no major problems with it in the past 3 months since I got it.
If you have the engine, the tranny, ecu etc.. Basically everything that you need to convert this car into a 5.0 and everything is in good working condition go for it.
hey 1991, i have an 88 stang with everything, i would even pull the rear end, pony wheels and cowl hood off, but i just found a 90 model gt for $500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
