88 5.0HO won't idle

Need some help, I recently purchased a 88 saleen as a project car, it will start but dies at idle. I ran the codes and a 34 and 87 came up.
34= EGR
87- Fuel pump relay
I think!

Could these cause the problems or should I be looking at something else?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

What does the car do if you feed it throttle? how does it run while its running, need a bit more to go on man

It will start if I feather the throttle and keep feathering but as soon as I let off it will die out. I have checked the timing and it is at 10 degrees and I have spark across the board. I checked fuel pressure at the rail and it squirts across the garage. I don't have a gauge. I was wanting to eliminate the smog pump, should I block off the egr and avoid spending the eighty dollars. The other question is are the fuel pump relays a two stage relay, the fuel pump kicks on with key on and the relay also clicks but then clicks off but should it still keep power to the fuel pump?

I am fairly new at the whole car thing so please bear with me.

It will not maintain RPM, it jumps around even with a steady foot, with a little intake pop. I have also checked vacuum lines across but I could have missed something.

Thanks and hope this info is a little better.

Try taking off the egr valve to make sure it is not stuck open.
