Default Blinkers

91 Mustang GT hatchback 5 spd

I know there has been a million different posts on people's blinkers not working so I tried to fix my problem with their info but I haven't been able to... It used to be that my blinkers would work intermittently.. Then I realized I just had to wiggle the key a little bit once the car to running to get them to work. Then they stopped all together. I replaced the ignition switch hoping that would fix the problem, but it didn't. I've seen other people talk about wiggling the wires under the steering column, that didn't work. I've seen others talk about the hazards switch but I'm not sure what to do there, I guess at some point Ford moved the hazards switch from the steering column to the dash (mine is on the dash). Others mentioned a switch behind the radio, but I'm not sure what to be looking for back there. Thanks for any replies, I appreciate it. My car has been unregistered and sitting for too long..I wanna get it out for the summer!

I have a 1990 and there is a round flasher fuse behind the stereo. Its a green plastic type fuse that looks like the hazard fuse. Mine went out as well, fortunately my father in law told me right where it was. Weird huh

Wiggling the key to get them to work is a symptom I had in my 86. The electrical ignition switch is not the problem, the key tumbler is. The hole for the shaft that connects them together is worn down.

Take the shroud off the column, turn the key to the On position, and on the bottom of the tumbler there's a hole about the size of a pen tip. Stick a small allen wrench or whatever into the hole (somewhat hard) and pull out on the key. Tumbler will come right out.

Oh... My bad, that's what I called the "ignition switch"... I replaced that thinking that was the problem, but the blinkers still won't work, or the climate control (fan)... To clarify a little bit about my first post, the hazards do work though... Thanks again for the help

veryuseful.com has wiring diagrams in color. Need to check for power. The power comes through the ignition switch, located on steering column.2 nuts hold it on.
