Question 94 mustang super hard clutch problem

My clutch petal is so hard to push down it literally hurts. I am now on my third clutch and second clutch cable and the problem still exists. I really need to know that I am not the only one in the world with this problem.. any info would be so much appreciated

Bent fork maybe, maybe broken fork pivot. Really everything in the clutch system can make a stiff pedal if it fails, gonna have to dig in and find it.

Ok thank you .. now I can know what to ask a man to look at next because replacing the clutch and also the clutch cable was obviously not the problem.

One more question...would a bent fork cause the firewall to bow out when the clutch is pushed in?

don't be so sure of the clutch cable thing, I went through three cheap **** oem ones before ordering a steeda one and quick release set up and cured the issue, make sure the firewall is not cracked as well and that cable is routed properly and that clutch fork is fine/ not bent and that the retainer that the TOB rides on is not grooved causing it to bind, if it is, time for a steel one if not equipped already.

Mine was incredibly hard when I bought my car. It was the corroded stock cable binding inside the sheath. New OEM cable and some lube on the pedal assembly and now it's easier to use than the one on my brand new 4 cylinder ranger.

My new clutch, which is a stage 1, started out like that for the first week, then it loosend up tramendously. If you just got the clutch i would say it is normal, if youve had it for a while, i dont know wha tot tell you

I had that problem with my 93. When I bought it, the previous owner put in a repset gold luk clutch and it was stiff as hell. He told me to drive it for a couple weeks and I did. The problem was still there and so after a while my synchros went out in 2nd gear. My clutch was so stiff on my cable that the cable wasn't working properly. Depends on what kind of clutch you have and transmission I would get a hydraulic clutch assembly. But you really don't know until you crack the case.

thanks guys...all I can do is rely on a mechanic now as it sits in a parking lot because I cannot even get it to shift into gear now... cant drive it so I am taking it back to the last mechanic that replaced the cable.. so tired of it .. I love my mustang but whats the sense if I cant even drive it.. sorry, Im just so fed up and I dont trust mechanics, they see a female drive in and see dollar signs. Not one has helped me yet. thanks again
